ROCK.
That is all.
So my car is still in the shop and its irking me to no end. Called the shop today during my lunch but their line was either busy, or ring ring ring…
Hopefully I’ll be able to reach them either this weekend or Monday, cause I’m hoping that they’ve determined just how much it is going to cost me to get it fixed. The last I heard it was a faulty crank sensor and possibly bad bearings low in the drive case. Estimate was about $1000 – $1500 to fix it totally right, which will include a complete engine re-build and tune-up to boot.
Le sigh. I still feel its warranted since it is a very nice car and I don’t feel like finding another that is in decent shape and runs well like this baby will. Time will tell. When its fixed (fingers crossed) I’m going to take a lot of nice pictures of it and throw them online (first to Facebook, but I do plan to make a simple Photo Gallery subdomain here.
All in due time.
Had a great time at the Grand Opening of ENTS. Got to play plenty of Rock Band, talked with some new members, and overall had a lot of fun.
I see so much potential with the space and the learning that can be accomplished. Exciting times ahead!
I couldn’t figure out why this blog was not displaying any posts. Turns out the theme I changed to somehow broke afterwards.
Its working now. More posts to come.
Thought it best to remind my future self of the ongoing progress to the site. I’ve gone over the frontpage navigation icon chips, in the spirit of the iPhone. Gone are the blurry-non-descriptive-label, and now they’re sharp and labeled properly with a slight hover effect for added goodness.
I plan to add my side projects in a separate section once they’ve matured enough to show off. PHPMyJobs.com is still nowehere close to being completely re-factored, and Haiku News is taking a break until things become more newsworthy I guess.. Plus personal motivation to re-launch it.
I’m also working on adding more cameras to the AWC page, and figuring out how to add Weather RADAR layers as well. More to come on that later I hope…
It’s that moment. The wind flowing over your skin, your body tingling from the bright rays of sunshine beaming down from a cloudless sky, each of your senses cranked to 11, when you realize just how lucky you are to be alive. Just a light touch here, a small movement there, the handlebars manipulated with the lightest of touch, navigating you and your two wheeled vessel around potholes and small bumps in the road.
Carefully you ease up, not wanting to end the freedom of movement you feel over those walking nearby, nor wanting to ram headlong into traffic to be struck by an unexpected vehicle; it’s a fine balance between freedom and safety. Finally full stop, time to take in the scene as you rest easily against the light-pole, one hand still on the handlebars, the other feeling the warm gleam radiated from a mornings worth of sunshine cast upon its dark gray surface.
Then you’re off again, this time more stridently as you bring to bear the full force of your legs, them working like pistons in a race car, faster and faster. You’re up to speed now, freedom once again attained and inhaled as in a drunken stupor of delicious wine, too sweet to let go or even imagine so, too magnificent in its splendor and allure to let slip away. Your purchases swing softly from side to side in its carry bag, which is hung unceremoniously from the left handle and threatens to be jostled by your pistoning knee but always just out of reach by mere inches.
Guiding down the lane away from bustling traffic you bring your bearing directly into the sun, feel its warm glow alight upon your skin, its rays warming the fine hairs of your arms and neck. To have the good fortune to experience these sensations makes one gracious and fulfilled, knowing that dire situations are beset upon a majority of others with no hope of reversal.
How lucky you are indeed, to have this freedom and luxury to experience the simple pleasures in life, to not be oppressed or denied access to even a simple bike ride on a sunny day without a care in the world. This is how life should be enjoyed, to take fascination and notice of the minutiae amongst the macroscopic, the tiny pleasures amongst the great, the smallest of exhilarations folded into the mundane. Thank your lucky stars you live in a society that affords you such things as these.
Found this amazingly cool video from Jack Conte, posted Nov 2008 but hey, its still great. It inspires me to play a few more instruments or get a Mac to do video editing, not sure which first. ![]()
You know, we’ve had a fairly long relationship, although turbulent at times you’ve helped me focus and expand my horizons many a time.
I’ve put a lot of faith and tender care into your well-being, I’ve been there when you struggled so, sluggish as it may have been for your perceptions and awareness of this reality. But you’ve always come back, you’re a fighter, a strong contendah, and best of all you never let me down. No matter how much load you were under, no matter how many tasks you had to deal with, you always made it through the night.
This is why I dedicate to you this message of change, because Yes We Can, we -can- change the future for the better, with a little tender loving care. I will do more for you, I will continue to love and be loyal to you for all that its worth, cause you are all that I’m worth deep inside. You complete me.
And I shall complete you, bit by bit. Day by day I will struggle along your side mentally and emotionally preparing ourselves to deal with what challenges are beset upon us.
cshaiku.com, I love you. You’re the best server ever!
